Encounter with the world poses for each generation a new and different challenge.
This challenge particularly affects the nature of serious questions concerning personal destiny.

How can I engage meaningfully with the world?

Where lies my potential, my skills and how do I develop them?

How do I respond to the needs of our time?

To help people of all ages, not just the young, to answer these questions and to find their place in the world, the Foyer Michaël offers a year of general studies during which students explore a wide range of cultural, artistic and practical subjects.

The social interaction within every group of students is a vital factor as it encourages awareness both of oneself and of others. Each different aspect of life at the Foyer Michaël is intended to complement the other.

Together these ingredients create a unique element and well-rounded year of self-discovery and worldly insights. The plays, concerts and festivals help to give the Foyer its dynamic and creative atmosphere.

An aesthetic, as well as social, artistic and intellectual education is considered essential in developing truly creative thought. This creative and living thought can then permeate all aspects of our studies.

Students can thereby more fully understand and penetrate reality, while at the same time fostering the very greatest respect for each individuality. Moreover they can hope to benefit from profound and long lasting changes in their lives - changes that can potentially be turning points in their personal destinies.
